2nd Annual Camp Good Grief

Hospice of Rockingham County once again partnered with the Rockingham County School System, Annie Penn Hospital, and Morehead Memorial Hospital for Camp Good Grief.  This camp offered grief support and guidance for children in 2nd through 12th grades.  Approximately 22 campers attended this year's camp on April 14th at Camp GuilRock.  Below are photos from this year's event.

Annual Volunteer Appreciation Banquet

Thanking our volunteers properly for all they do is an impossible task - but in an effort to express our endless appreciation for their efforts, HRC hosted their volunteer appreciation banquet on April 17th, 2012.  The Mickey Hair Volunteer of the Year award is given annually at the banquet and this year's recipient was Frances Paschal, pictured below (on right, with Barbara Moore, Manager of Volunteer Services).  In addition to her plaque, Frances will be honored with a book placed in the HRC library.

The volunteers enjoyed dinner, fellowship, and fabulous entertainment provided by Veronica Jones.

Hospice Doves' 6th Annual Walk to Remember

Sunshine and blue skies may have been in short supply on Saturday, April 28th for the Doves' annual walk but the same is not true of high spirits and generous hearts!  More than 250 hearty souls turned out for the walk on the 2+ mile trail at Chinqua Penn.  Afterwards participants enjoyed door prizes, refreshments, and hotdogs served fresh off the grill.

While some things are still being tallied, early results show more than $20,000 will be raised this year.  Thanks to everyone who helped make this event a success!
