April 24th, 2010

4th Annual Hospice Walk
Held on the beautiful
Upper Piedmont Research Station Walking Trail
at Chinqua Penn Plantation

On-site registration will start at 9:30am and the walk will begin at 10:00am.  If you have pre-registered, you do not have to register on the day of the walk.

Participants may walk as individual entries or form a team and walk as a group.  Participants are asked to raise or donate a minimum of $25.00 each.

GriefShare Support Group (evening):  This ongoing support group meets Mondays at 6:30pm at Growing Oaks Community Church, 2270 Harrington Highway, Eden, NC, (336) 623-1114.  For additional information about this GriefShare program, please contact Sheree Jones, MDiv, Hospice Chaplain/Bereavement Coordinator at (336) 427-9026, extension 232.

GriefShare Support Group (morning):  This support group will meet Tuesdays, January 19th through April 13th at 10:30am at Speedwell Presbyterian Church, 862 Ironworks Road, Reidsville, NC.  For additional information about this GriefShare program, please contact Bland Leebrick, Jr., MDiv, NCBF, Hospice Chaplain/Bereavement Coordinator at (336) 427-9026, extension 231.

March 15th - "Healing After Loss":  6:30 - 7:30pm at the following locations:

First Baptist Church in Madison at 110 S. Franklin Street

First Presbyterian Church in Reidsville at 318 S. Main Street

Dessert and discussion for ages 18 and older.  An evening of sharing, support, and education for individuals and/or families for their grief journey.  Open to anyone having experienced the death of a loved one.  There is no cost involved with this event but pre-registration is requested.  Please call HRC at (336) 427-9022 to pre-register by Thursday, March 11th.   If you have questions or need additional information, please contact Chaplain Sheree Jones at the Hospice office.

 

May 2nd - Remembrance Tea & Coffee:  2:00pm - 4:00pm in the Hospice Home community room

October 21st:  "Hope for the Holidays" grief workshop.  6:30pm at Brian Center, 226 N. Oakland Avenue, Eden

October 25th:  grief workshop.  6:30pm at Avante of Reidsville, 543 Maple Avenue, Reidsville

October 26thgrief workshop.  6:30pm at Britthaven of Madison, 1721 Bald Hill Loop, Madison

November 4th - Annual Memorial Service:  6:30pm, Calvary Baptist Church, 7860 NC Hwy 65, Reidsville

November 9th - Pastor Appreciation Luncheon:  Noon, Hospice Home community room

December 2nd - 17th Annual LifeLight ceremony:  6:30pm

    

 

 

 

Upcoming Volunteer Training

    All prospective volunteers are required to complete volunteer training classes.  HRC traditionally offers training classes three times each year.  Please see our 2010 training class schedule outlined below.**  

    Volunteer training is offered at no charge and all necessary materials are provided by HRC.  For additional information or to register, please call Barbara Moore, Manager of Volunteer Services at (336) 427-9026, ext. 402 or you may email her at bmhospice@triadbiz.rr.com.

   

    With one class in progress, HRC will offer two more opportunities for training classes in 2010.  They are scheduled as follows:

 

May 25, 27, June 1, 3, 8, 10 from 6:00pm - 9:00pm

 

August 24, 26, 31, September 2, 7, 9 from 6:00pm - 9:00pm

 

    **If your group or club has a minimum of 10 or more members interested in taking volunteer training classes, HRC will hold training classes at your preferred location, rather than your group having to travel to our Hospice office.
