Give the Gift of Life

August 6^th:  HRC will host a blood drive on Friday, August 6^th, from 2:00pm until 6:30pm.  The blood drive will be held in the community room at the Hospice Home.  This is a great opportunity to save a life and tour the Hospice Home!

Interested donors may call the Hospice office at (336) 427-9022 to make an appointment for donation.  Free goodies for participants and all donors will be registered for a chance to win a $1000 gift card to be given away by the American Red Cross.

Did you know that only 38% of Americans are eligible to donate blood and of those, only 8% do?  That amounts to about 3 out of every 100 people.  And since a single blood donation may help up to three different people, your donation does make a difference.  Please take time to donate blood!

In the United States, someone needs blood every two seconds!  The American Red Cross Carolinas Blood Services Region supplies blood to 103 hospitals; approximately 1600 people need to give blood or platelets each week day to meet hospital demand.

April 2011 - Camp Good Grief will be HRC's first-ever bereavement camp and will serve children ages 2^nd grade through 8^th grade.  

Children will be grouped with trained volunteers and together they will participate in art therapy, arts & crafts, group discussions, and healing circles, which will be led by qualified Hospice staff as well as local professionals.  The day camp will also include recreational activities, lunch, snacks, and a closing ceremony.
