Just like the inability to compare apples to oranges, not all hospices are the created the same either. Some are not-for-profit and some are for-profit; some are private and independent and some are part of state- or nation-wide chains. Hospice of Rockingham County is a private, non-profit hospice that has been a part of the local community since November of 1987.
When the time comes for you to choose a hospice provider (and yes, you do have the option to make your own choice), the more you know, the easier it should be to select an end-of-life care provider. The National Hospice & Palliative Care Organization developed a set of questions to ask potential providers to help in the decision-making process. HRC has answered these questions as they pertain to our organization and hope this may be helpful in selecting a hospice. As always, if you have additional questions, we encourage you to call our office at (336) 427-9022. Click here to view NHPCO’s questions and HRC’s responses.
