The Hospice Doves invite you to join them for their 14th annual Walk to Remember on Saturday, April 25th. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and our concern for everyone’s health and safety, this year’s Walk to Remember is going to be a little different.
There are many unknowns about our current situation – but one thing we do know is that Hospice patients still need our help and support, both now and in the future. That is why, instead of canceling our fundraising Walk to Remember in April, we have decided to turn our 14th anniversary walk into a virtual event!
Instead of gathering to walk together at Chinqua Penn, participants may walk wherever they choose – you can walk around your house, in your yard, around your neighborhood, even on your treadmill. As long as you practice healthy social distancing, you can make the walk your own. If you prefer to walk in the afternoon, that’s great … want to walk a shorter distance or, if feeling especially spunky, want to “go long”? By all means, feel free to do so!
Each virtual walker will receive a commemorative backpack and, new this year, all registered participants will receive a unique participant medal.
To register online, please click here. If you prefer to fill out a hard copy of the entry form, please click here for a printable version.
The Walk to Remember raises money for the uninsured and under-insured patients that Hospice of Rockingham County serves each year. HRC provides between $75,000 – $100,000 in uncompensated care annually and in more than 32 years of service, we have never turned away a patient needing care but lacking coverage. Successful events like the Walk to Remember help us continue to provide services to patients regardless of insurance coverage or financial means.
